David Oates
David has had a long and successful career in motorsport alongside his specialist car sales company Autorite Sport.
Originally from Four Marks, Alton and more recently Somerset, now returned to Hampshire.
David served his apprenticeship with Webbers Jaguar, moving on to the family Peugeot dealership working as Service Reception Manager, later on becoming Used Car Sales Manager from this David managed to combine his job with racing on the short ovals, successfully competing in Superstox, Hot Rods & Super Rods.
In 1983 David formed his own company specialising in the sales of performance cars and in 1985 moved into circuit racing, in his first full season he was part of the winning team in the Willhire 24 Hour Race from which Ford Motor Company used the car in the television commercial, with a liking to endurance racing David has taken part in ten 24 Hour races with outright victory, twice overall runner-up, four class wins and a determination award.

Having grown up in the family business Chawton End Garage located in the village of Four Marks from which his farther established into a well-respected dealership, sadly the village has long changed with all the original shops, pub, garage etc all now gone, looking back from childhood memories from driving cars around the garage from the age of 12 it was going to be along career in the motor trade but who would of ever expected such a huge following and a boom in what has now turned out to be a highly and very lucrative classic car environment some of which many of us grew up around and also owned.
2017 ATBURYS.com was set up as a new business specialising in Garage and Motorsport Memorabilia along with the highly collectable enamel signs and the bespoke upcycled motor parts furniture, with over 30 years of motor sport profession, David still has a large following and passion to be around this exciting and adrenaline rush sport and especially now having his son Jamie with an involvement, and are always interested in purchasing 70/80’s barn find cars etc
